Water coming in? Call the leak line.

Whoever is on call this week picks up, at any hour. We tell you what happens next, tarp the roof the same night when it is safe to climb, and send you a photo report to keep.

Active leak?

Active leak? Here is what happens

Four steps, in the order they happen. Nights and weekends run the same four.

  • 01
    Any hour

    A person picks up

The leak line rings the lead on call. Tell us where the water is coming in and how fast. Text a photo if you can.

  • 02
    Window set on the call

    We give you a window

You get an arrival window before the truck leaves. After hours, the call-out rate is quoted on the phone first, and you can say no.

  • 03
    Same night when safe

Tarp, if it is safe to climb

If the roof is dry enough and the wind is down, we tarp it and secure the opening. If not, we say so and come at first light.

    Photo report, then your call

A photo report goes to your phone: where the water got in, what we covered, and what the real fix is. Nothing is repaired until you say yes.

The report

What the photo report shows

You get one report per address. It is written so that an owner, a landlord or an insurer can read it without us in the room.

  • Where the water got in, photographed

  • What we covered, and with what

  • What the permanent repair is

Repair, replace or wait

The photo report tells you which. You see the photos before you see a price.

  • Repair

Most leaks are one small failure: a lifted flashing, a cracked vent boot, a nail that backed out. If that is all it is, that is all we fix.

  • Replace

If the shingles are brittle, or the deck under them is wet in many places, patching only moves the leak. We show you the photos and say so.

  • Wait

Some roofs can wait for a dry week. We say what to watch for, and when to call us again.

Alabama roofs

Fix it once: FORTIFIED roofs and the state grant

A rebuild after a storm can be a FORTIFIED Roof: a sealed deck, ring-shank nails and rated materials, checked by an independent evaluator who issues the certificate.

Alabama's Strengthen Alabama Homes program offers grants to eligible homeowners, and Alabama requires insurance companies to honor the certificate with a discount. Each company sets its own amount, and the program sets who qualifies.

Questions

Before you call the leak line

Is the leak line really answered at night?

Yes. The lead on call picks up. If they are on a ladder, the call rolls to the next lead on the rota.

Does a night or weekend call cost more?

Yes. An after-hours call-out is billed at an after-hours rate. We tell you the rate on the phone before the truck leaves, and you can decline.

Will you tarp my roof tonight?

If the roof is dry enough, the wind is down and it is safe to climb, yes. If it is not, we do not go up. We tell you what to do inside, and we come at first light.

What does the photo report include?

Where the water got in, what we covered, photos of each, and what the permanent fix would be. It comes by text or email within 24 hours of the visit.

Can you cover my deductible?

No. The deductible stays with you. We photograph the damage and write an itemized estimate you can share with your insurer. We do not handle your claim.

How long does a roof last?

Architectural asphalt shingles run about 25 to 30 years, older 3-tab shingles about 15 to 20. North Alabama sun, hail and wind storms shorten that.

The rota

Three leads, one phone, a week each

The leak line goes to one lead a week. If they are up a ladder, it rolls to the next. Tasha runs the office line on weekdays and sends your photo report.

  • Felicia Gaines

Owner and lead on the rota

Felicia started the company after her Army service. She takes the leak line one week in three and writes the estimate when a repair turns into a replacement.

  • Victor Tamayo

    Repair crew lead

Victor runs the repair truck. He traces the leak, tarps the roof and tells you what he found before he leaves the driveway.

  • Paul Hollis

    Replacement crew lead

Paul leads the replacement crew. When a storm is on the way he checks which open roofs need covering before the rain gets there.

  • Tasha Ridley

    Office and photo reports

Tasha books visits, sends the photo reports and writes up the estimates. She is on the office line from seven to five on weekdays.
