The roofing year in the Tennessee Valley

What each season means for a roof in north Alabama.

Spring
Severe-weather season. Hail and wind find the weak spots, and the leak line is busiest.
Summer
Afternoon thunderstorms. Good weather for repairs and replacements between them.
Fall
The busiest season for replacements, and a second, shorter storm season in late fall.
Winter
Shingles do not seal well below 40 degrees, so replacements wait for a warm week. Leaks do not.
