Warranty
The warranty ladder
Three different promises, from three different people.
The shingle maker's warranty
It covers manufacturing defects in the shingles. It has its own terms, a length and a transfer rule. "Lifetime" means the life of the original owner, for defects only.
The system warranty
At a higher tier, the maker also covers the other parts of the roof system. Only a contractor the maker accepts can register it.
Our workmanship warranty
It covers our work, for the number of years written on your estimate. It does not cover storm damage, and it does not cover other people's work.
License
The license record
The number shows in the header and footer of every page.

Warranty questions
What the paperwork says
What warranty do I get?
Two parts: the shingle maker's material warranty, and our workmanship warranty. At higher tiers the maker also covers the workmanship.
What does "lifetime" mean?
For most shingle makers, as long as you own your single-family home, for manufacturing defects only, and prorated after the first years.
Does the warranty cover hail?
Shingle warranties generally do not cover hail damage. That is a question for your insurer.
